Jai has been practicing Yoga for over 13 years. At the age of 18 Jai told her dad she was going to become a Yoga Teacher. He told her not be so ridiculous and to get a career where she could use her brain. She then went on to become a Chartered Accountant and used every spare bit of cash to put towards courses, seminars, retreats, books and resources to enhance her knowledge within the Yoga world.
Ten years passed within which she moved to Australia – By chance Accountants where on the skilled list and therefore she could apply for her Permanent Visa (no need for a shotgun wedding!). When her PR came through she left the corporate world after 10 years and followed her dream of Teaching Yoga. She has not looked back and is so grateful for the opportunity to teach exclusively for the Townsville Yoga Hub and to deliver a top class learning experience for our students. Jai has noticed considerable changes within herself from practicing Yoga and is hoping to help others do the same.
Jai teaches primarily Forrest and even her Vinyasa Flow classes will incorporate her Forrest roots.
As one of two Forrest Teachers in Queensland, I am so honored to share this practice with you here in Townsville. It is the perfect complement for a fitness environment as it is challenging and will noticeably increase your strength, flexibility and breath capacity. Cardio sessions will improve and lifting ability will improve with a regular Yoga practice.
Classes will be targeted at the class ability and all levels will be catered for.
Nigel’s first Yoga experience was a revelation. Despite a fitness and active outdoor background I had never felt so engaged and interested. 35 years later I am still in wonder at the possibilities a good Yoga practice can provide. When you get it right words are no longer necessary. It does not matter who you trained with, what style you teach, whether you have done enough sun salutations and so on and so forth!
You are there in the moment and nothing else matters. Yoga is my joy and I am here to share this wonderful gift.
My personal practice has ebbed and flowed, from style to style and from hours of seated meditation, to breath, and both soft and strong Asanas (postures). After family and loved ones, it remains the best gift I have ever been given and has helped me through all the joys and difficulties of life. My Yoga experience continues to evolve and I do not limit the variations I may still achieve. Indeed, my practice continues to broaden, often in sizeable chunks when least expected.
Nigel currently teaches a mixture of single Asanas (postures) and sections of Vinyasa (flow). Nigel prefers a warmer, more natural environment. If it’s hot so be it! Over time a balanced approach to Yoga will seek out and find every corner, providing renewal, strength, calm and opportunity.

Kyrani has a passion for facilitating spiritual, physical and emotional wellbeing in individuals. After being introduced to yoga practices in 1974, Kyrani has forged her path in the wellness industry through practice and self-development in the fields of Yoga and Reiki.
My passion for Yoga is first and foremost, with a focus on bringing people back to their inward journey through the body. Through this focus, I discovered the power of Sound Healing in bringing individuals into their being, clearing channels and physically healing through the energetic shift of the sound vibration.
Kyrani offers Yin Yoga at North Shore Tuesday evenings at 5.30. Explore myofascial release, a safe, highly effective, whole-body approach of treating pain and dysfunction in the body, and the power of sound vibration.
Kiara is a Yoga Teacher, Barre Instructor, Body Balance Instructor, Personal Trainer and Professional Ballet Dancer.
Kiara not only has Fitness and Yoga qualifications, but also has an Advanced Diploma in Dance. Kiara teaches Yogic Philosophy, in a simple way which is meaningful to Yogis of today.
Her Yoga passion is creative sequencing, otherwise known as Vinyasa. Kiara teaches with attention to detail for safe alignment with fluid and flowing transitions focusing on clear cueing for Breath, Energy and Movement with intelligent Sequencing, preparing the Body and Mind.
Kiara teaches at our CBD Studio on Tuesday mornings at 10.15 am. Friday mornings at 6.00 am and Friday afternoons at 5.30 pm.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Health Science (comp med) and is qualified in the fields of Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine, Iridology, Homoeopathy and Herbal Medicine. Lauren is also a Pilates Mat Instructor, qualified Personal Trainer and Kids Yoga Teacher. Her passion is in the field of Nutrition and movement especially focused on the Health and Wellbeing of women and children and is all about creating a healthy, active lifestyle for families. Lauren’s drive is to empower women and children to have a fit, strong and healthy body and mind no matter what package they are put into.
I’m also a wife and mother to three gorgeous active girls and in my down time I loves being active, partaking in anything from trail running to stand up paddle-boarding. I meditate daily and I am a self-confessed podcast addict……and of course I am crazy about Pilates & Kids Yoga.
Lauren teaches at our CBD and North Shore Studios. CBD on Tuesday mornings at 6.00 am & afternoons at 4.30 pm & Thursday’s at 5.3o0 pm. Friday’s are at North Shore at 10.15 am.
Amanda started getting involved in fitness from a young age. She started attending circuit classes at the age of 13 and became hooked on everything Health & Fitness. In her final year of school, Amanda completed her Certificate 3 in Health & Fitness and then started Personal Training, Group fitness classes and also kid’s circuit classes.
It was always heartening to see kids being active, having fun and a laugh at the same time
Amanda started working at the Strand Fitness Group just over a year ago and quickly became a bright and popular asset to our Team.
I love the environment I work in, along with the constant support and encouragement I get not just from my Team Members but also from our clients. Throughout the last year or so, I’ve completed both my Boxing course and Kids Yoga certification. I was absolutely thrilled when I was approached to teach Kids yoga classes as I am a strong believer of children being active and I have such confidence in the many benefits that introducing Yoga to your child’s life will have. Attending our Kids Yoga classes will not only get your children moving, build strength & flexibility, but also aids in helping them to release their thoughts and stresses (and of course they will have heaps of fun while doing it).
